Taylor Swift’s “New Year’s Day” Reaches #70 At Country Radio

The “reputation” track is receiving some support at Swift’s original radio home.

Earlier this week, Headline Planet had reported that Taylor Swift’s “New Year’s Day” had been serviced to the country radio format that she once called home.

On the heels of its release, the song began to garner airplay from the format.

It received enough airplay, in fact, for a Top 70 position.

“New Year’s Day” was the Mediabase country panel’s #70 song for the November 12-18 tracking week.

The #70 position is determined by the song’s Mediabase chart score rather than raw airplay*.

It is worth noting, however, that “New Year’s Day” received 101 spins within the tracking period. A total of 25 Mediabase-monitored country stations contributed airplay.

“New Year’s Day” appears on Taylor Swift’s recently released “reputation.”

*Note: Unlike the other genre charts, Mediabase’s country chart is based on a proprietary scoring system. Spins are assigned point values based on the size of the market in which they were received.
