Ratings: MTV’s “TRL” Revival Draws Very Small TV Audience

The return of “TRL” was certainly not a live+same-day ratings winner.

The return of MTV’s “TRL” drew a considerable amount of online buzz.

It did not, however, post strong live+same-day television ratings.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Monday’s episode drew a mere 0.10 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 166,000 overall viewers.

As an afternoon cable show aimed at young viewers, “TRL” was never going to draw a massive television audience.

Still, Monday’s episode was a series premiere featuring very high-profile guests in Ed Sheeran and Migos. Given those factors, it is hard to view the numbers as anything but massively disappointing.
