FOX’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Confirmed For Season 5

FOX renews “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” for another season.

FOX plans to spend more time in the 99th precinct.

The network officially renewed comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” for a fifth season.

Never a big live+same-day ratings performer, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” has been particularly weak this season. The second of this Tuesday’s back-to-back installments drew an abysmal 0.6 adults 18-49 rating and 1.44 million overall viewers.

FOX nonetheless remains committed to the show, which still generates ample support from entertainment critics and journalists.

The renewal leaves “New Girl” and “Family Guy” as the only FOX comedies without clarity on their standing for next season. “Family Guy” is about as locked as they come for a renewal, while “New Girl” can legitimately go either way.
