Linkin Park & Kiiara’s “Heavy” Named A Hot Pick By Pop Stations In Chicago, Nashville

Linkin Park [Brandon Cox | WBR]

Linkin Park scored some hits at its core rock radio formats in 2013 and 2014, but its last chart entry at the pop format was 2012’s “Burn It Down.”

Will new single “Heavy (featuring kiiara)” allow for a return to pop radio? Two of the format’s programmers seem to think so.

Erik Bradley of Chicago’s B96 and Jonathan Shuford of Nashville’s 107.5 The River call “Heavy” a “hot pick” as part of the ongoing AllAccess.com survey.

B96’s other “hot picks” include Katy Perry’s “Chained To The Rhythm (featuring Skip Marley)” and Martin Garrix & Dua Lipa’s “Scared To Be Lonely.” The River also believes in James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go,” Julia Michaels’ “Issues,” and Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Human.”

“Heavy” premieres this week; detail on WB Records’ plans for radio promotion – particularly as it relates to a crossover push at pop – were not available at press time.
