Ratings: NBC’s “A Pentatonix Christmas Special” Performs Decently

Pentatonix [NBC]

No, NBC’s “A Pentatonix Christmas Special” was not a ratings smash.

It was, however, a solid performer — particularly in terms of total viewership.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s special drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating and 7.49 million total viewers in the 8PM hour.

Among “big four” network programming in the 8-9PM hour, “A Pentatonix Christmas” was fourth among adults 18-49 and third in total viewership. A glass half-empty analyst may dwell on that underwhelming competitive positioning.

A rational analyst, however, will note the solid magnitude of both figures.

Said analyst may also note that the numbers best those posted by last year’s Michael Buble special, which drew a 1.2 rating and 7.26 million total viewers on December 10, 2015.
