Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” Received Big Day One Airplay; 1795 Pop Spins, 447 Hot AC Spins, 290 Rhythmic Spins

Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” had a very impressive first day at US radio.

Aided by “on the hour” airplay promotions and the enthusiasm one would expect for a new Bruno Mars single, “24K Magic” garnered 1,795 first-day spins at pop radio (per Mediabase). The count positions “24K Magic” at #31 on Mediabase’s building chart, which ranks songs based on the first six days of the October 2-8 tracking week.

It will not receive 1,795 plays on Saturday. But given that it will receive a decent amount of airplay and the fact that twenty one pilots’ building #12 “Ride” will be removed as a recurrent (lifting all songs below #12 up by one position), it has a great shot at a Top 30 debut on this week’s official Mediabase airplay chart.

“24K Magic” will also make a splash on the hot adult contemporary chart. It received 447 first-day Hot AC spins, which results in a #33 position on the building listing.

Mars’ new single also received 290 opening day plays at rhythmic, where it earns #50 on the building chart.
