When it comes to RIAA certifications, July 28, 2016 was a big day for ZAYN.

The former One Direction member’s debut solo single “PILLOWTALK” went double platinum. “Mind Of Mine,” the album on which it appears went gold.

The single certification confirms a US unit total of 2 million. Under the RIAA’s digital singles program, one unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

In going gold, “Mind Of Mine” is credited with at least 500,000 album units. A unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.

“PILLOWTALK” notably debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100; “Mind Of Mine” topped the Billboard 200.
