Ratings: “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens” Falls Slightly, Still Sunday’s Most-Watched Cable Original

Syfy’s “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens” drew a slightly smaller audience than 2015’s “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!.”

It nonetheless ranked as Sunday night’s most-watched cable original.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s movie drew a 0.82 adults 18-49 rating and 2.77 million total viewers. The movie, which was the first “Sharknado” to premiere on a Sunday, was the night’s #2 cable program in adults 18-49 (beneath “Power,” 0.89) and #1 cable program in total viewership.

Last year’s movie drew a 0.87 rating and 2.81 million total viewers for its Wednesday night premiere. The previous year’s “Sharknado” premiered to a 1.29 rating and 3.87 million viewers, while the original film mustered a considerably softer 0.4 rating and 1.37 million viewer sum.
