Ratings: “Mr. Robot” Falls To Another Low, “Suits” Rises

While lead-in “Suits” enjoyed week-to-week gains in adults 18-49 and total viewership, USA Network’s “Mr. Robot” fell to new live+same-day lows this week.

According to live+same-day data, Wednesday’s edition of the Emmy-nominated series drew a mere 0.26 adults 18-49 rating and 637,000 total viewers. The numbers trail the 0.30 adults 18-49 rating and 799,000 viewer mark drawn by last week’s broadcast, both of which then ranked as lows for the critically acclaimed drama.

Wednesday’s episode did face competition from the Democratic National Convention. DNC viewership was far from trivial.

At the same time, it was not massive enough to warrant overlooking this week’s “Mr. Robot” performance. Despite the immense buzz, rave reviews, and Emmy nominations, “Mr. Robot” is simply not a live+same-day draw.

And it has apparently become less of one this year. Whereas no first season episode drew fewer than 1.15 million live+same-day viewers, two of the three second season installments have drawn considerably fewer than 1 million.

Hurting this week’s narrative is the fact that lead-in “Suits” posted week-to-week gains (granted, “Suits” did not air during peak convention coverage). This week’s broadcast drew a 0.54 adults 18-49 rating and 1.778 million total viewers, besting the 0.49 rating and 1.652 million audience figure posted last week.
