Justin Timberlake, The Chainsmokers & Daya Battling For #1 at Pop Radio

Justin Timberlake [ABC]

After two weeks at #1, Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home (featuring Ty Dolla $ign)” will cede its pop radio throne this week.

Ascending to the top spot on Mediabase’s pop airplay chart will be either Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” or The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down (featuring Daya).”

“Don’t Let Me Down” received more airplay last week, but Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” opened this week with a slight lead. It received 2,280 spins on Sunday, the first day of the June 5-11 tracking week, while The Chainsmokers’ single received 2,278. The counts were up by 14.5% and 8.5%, respectively, from those posted last Sunday.

It is far too early to assume “Can’t Stop The Feeling” will win the race, especially since Sunday airplay can be erratic, but the start is certainly encouraging for Timberlake’s song.

“Can’t Stop The Feeling” will also vie for the top spot on the Mediabase hot adult contemporary airplay chart. With DNCE’s “Cake By The Ocean” certain to cede its throne this week, “Can’t Stop The Feeling” is the frontrunner to take over. P!nk’s “Just Like Fire” may also emerge as a contender.
