Bishop Briggs is the newest beneficiary of iHeartRadio’s “On The Verge” program.

iHeartRadio formally announced the news Monday morning.

In addition to branding support, “On The Verge” artists receive guaranteed airplay from the iHeartMedia stations within a designated radio format.

In this case, the guaranteed airplay will apply to Briggs’ alternative radio single “River.” The breakthrough hit is already up to #16 on the format’s Mediabase airplay chart.

“On The Verge” has a stong track record at the alternative format. Several past selections, including The Strumbellas’ “Spirits,” Nothing But Thieves’ “Trip Switch,” X Ambassadors’ “Renegades,” and Milky Chance’s “Stolen Dance,” reached #1.

Aided by its growing radio exposure and a $0.69 discount, “River” is currently #111 on the US iTunes single sales chart. It reached the Top 100 last week.
