Charlie Puth’s “One Call Away,” which was recently certified gold by the RIAA (500,000 digital units), is set to reach the Top 10 on this week’s Mediabase hot adult contemporary airplay chart.
It also has a chance of doing so on the pop listing.
“One Call Away” received 2,338 hot adult contemporary spins during the first four days of the February 28-March 5 tracking week. Up 13.6% from last week’s count, the tally positions “One Call Away” at #9 on Mediabase’s building Hot AC chart.
Absent an imminent threat from below, the song should not face any difficulty remaining in the Top 10 through the close of weekly tracking.
“One Call Away” is concurrently #10 on the building pop chart thanks to the 5,093 spins it received over the tracking week’s first four days (+8.1%). It faces one potential threat in Rihanna’s “Work (featuring Drake),” which is #11 on the building chart with 4,945 spins.
Puth’s song would win the race if the two songs remain precisely on their current trajectories, but “Work” is too close to be definitively ruled out.
