The 88th Annual Academy Awards ceremony has revealed the winners for Best Actor and Best Actress.

The man and woman named were the heavy betting favorites.

The actor award went to Leonardo DiCaprio, who won his first Oscar in conjunction with his sixth nomination. Honored for his work in “The Revenant,” DiCaprio bested Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Eddie Redmayne, and Michael Fassbender.

Brie Larson, a first-time nominee, won for Best Actress. Star of “Room,” Larson won the trophy over Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Charlotte Rampling, and Saoirse Ronan.
