Ratings: Syfy’s Recently Renewed “The Expanse” Again Rises in Demo, Slips in Viewers

Tuesday’s “The Expanse,” which was the first episode to air since the season two renewal announcement, posted a second straight week-to-week gain in the key adults 18-49 demographic.

It, nonetheless, endured a slight decline in total viewership.

Per Nielsen Live+Same-Day cable data, Tuesday’s episode drew a 0.22 adults 18-49 rating and 631,000 total viewers.

Among adults 18-49, Tuesday’s episode was the highest-rated of those that aired without lead-in support from “Childhood’s End.” The viewership total, on the other hand, represented the series’ lowest yet.

Citing the show’s buzz and strong initial multi-platform marks, Syfy ordered a second season last week.
