Miley Cyrus’ 2013 smash “Wrecking Ball” has finally been certified under the RIAA’s digital singles program.

The ballad, which reached #1 on the Hot 100, earned a 5X platinum certification on October 28, 2015.

Under the terms of the RIAA’s Digital Singles program, the 5X platinum certification confirms a US unit total in excess of 5 million. One unit is equal to 1 paid download or 100 streams.

“Wrecking Ball” also retroactively received 4x, 3x, 2x, platinum, and gold certifications on the aforementioned date.

“Wrecking Ball” is now the artist’s second-most-certified US single. Only “Party In The USA,” which is 7x platinum, claims a higher RIAA certification.
