Ratings: ABC’s “Scandal,” “Grey’s Anatomy” Lead Thursday’s Non-Sports Shows (Updated)

Final Ratings Update: Despite suffering another week-to-week decline, ABC’s “Scandal” repeated as Thursday night’s top non-sports program in adults 18-49.

“Grey’s Anatomy,” which enjoyed a week-over-week gain, ranked as the night’s top non-sports program in total viewers.

Nielsen final data confirms that Thursday’s “Scandal” drew a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating with 8.058 million total viewers. Last week’s episode posted a 2.6 with 8.760 million.

Lead-in “Grey’s Anatomy” posted a 2.3 with 8.248 million total viewers. In addition to ranking as the night’s most-watched non-sports show, it was Thursday’s #2 such program in adults 18-49.

Last week’s “Grey’s” delivered a 2.2 with 8.181 million.

ABC closed its Thursday with “How To Get Away With Murder” (2.0 with 6.812 million vs. a 2.2 with 7.217 million last week). It was Thursday’s #3 non-sports program in adults 18-49 and #4 non-sports program in viewers (behind the aforementioned ABC shows and NBC’s “The Blacklist,” which drew a 1.4 with 6.929 million viewers).

Fast National Ratings Update: A week-over-week decline did not prevent ABC’s “Scandal” from extending its reign as Thursday’s top non-sports program among adults 18-49.

“Scandal” did, however, cede its non-sports viewership throne to fellow ABC drama “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Per fast national data, Thursday’s “Scandal” drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating with 7.999 million viewers. Last week’s episode posted a 2.6 with 8.760 million viewers.

Thursday’s “Grey’s,” meanwhile, drew a slightly lesser 2.2 rating but a slightly stronger 8.181 million viewership total. Its net performance actually tops last week’s broadcast, which drew the same 2.2 rating but reached only 8.124 million audience members.

10PM ABC drama “How To Get Away With Murder” was Thursday’s #3 non-sports program in adults 18-49 (2.0) and its #4 non-sports show in viewership (6.746 million). NBC’s “The Blacklist” only drew a 1.4 in adults 18-49, but it reached a slightly larger audience (6.826 million)

Last week’s “HTGAWM” episode drew a 2.2 with 7.217 million viewers.

When it comes to non-sports programming, ABC’s Thursday night dramas continue to operate at a distance from the rest of the television pack.

Per Nielsen metered market data, Thursday’s “Scandal” posted a 6.45 overnight household rating. Its 8PM “Grey’s Anatomy” lead-in drew a 6.35 overnight household rating.

While not as hot as the aforementioned two shows, at least as far as the overnight household ratings are concerned, ABC’s 10PM drama “How To Get Away With Murder” still topped all other non-sports programming. It posted a 5.4 overnight household rating.

The three shows should also rank as the night’s non-sports leaders in adults 18-49 and total viewership. Data confirming that notion will emerge by 11:15AM ET.
