Ratings: “Invisible Sister” Draws 4.03 Million Viewers; “Girl Meets World” Surges

In addition to drawing over 4 million live+same-day viewers for its own broadcast, Friday’s “Invisible Sister” premiere spurred ratings gains for lead-in “Jessie” and lead-out “Girl Meets World.”

Friday’s “Invisible Sister,” which aired in the 8-9:29PM timeslot, drew a 0.80 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.73 adults 18-34 rating, and a total audience of 4.028 million viewers.

The movie greatly aided lead-out “Girl Meets World,” which reached its highest viewership mark since August 2014.

Entitled “Girl Meets Rah Rah,” Friday’s “GMW” drew a 0.77 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.80 adults 18-34 rating, and a total audience of 3.313 million.

Easily the most-watched episode of the season, Friday’s “Girl” was the third-most-watched episode ever. Only the series premiere (5.162 million) and the aforementioned August 15, 2014 episode (4.082 million) reached larger audiences.

Last week’s “Girl Meets World” posted a 0.60 in adults 18-49, a 0.66 in adults 18-34, and reached 2.380 million viewers.

Helpful in any circumstance, the “Invisible Sister” lead-in was particularly synergistic due to its inclusion of “Girl Meets World” star Rowan Blanchard.

“Invisible Sister” was cable’s top non-sports Friday show in adults 18-49 and total viewership. “Girl Meets World” was the day’s non-sports cable leader in adults 18-34.

— By turning Friday night’s Disney Channel lineup into an “event,” “Invisible Sister” also aided “Jessie.”

That show, which aired as the 7:30PM lead-in to “Invisible Sister,” drew a 0.49 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.48 adults 18-34 rating, and 2.503 million viewers. All three numbers top those of last week’s broadcast (0.41 in A18-49, 0.37 in A18-34, 2.099 million).

Entitled “The Fear In Our Stars,” Friday’s “Jessie” was the most-watched episode of the season. Not since the November 28, 2014 season three finale (3.500 million) has a “Jessie” episode reached as many viewers.

Like “Girl Meets World,” “Jessie” also shares a star — Karan Brar — with “Invisible Sister.”

— In addition to Blanchard and Brar, “Invisible Sister” also starred Paris Berelc, Rachel Crow, and Austin Fryberger.
