R. City & Adam Levine’s “Locked Away” Certified Platinum in the US

R City [RCA]

This past week, R. City’s “Locked Away (featuring Adam Levine)” officially reached #1 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

That was not the song’s only recent achievement.

According to the RIAA, the breakthrough single officially earned a platinum certification on October 2.

Under the terms of the RIAA’s Digital Singles program, the platinum certification confirms a US unit total in excess of 1 million. One unit is equal to one paid download or 100 streams.

“Locked Away” was also retroactively certified Gold on the same day.
