OMI’s “Cheerleader,” The Weeknd’s “The Hills” Earn 3X Platinum Certifications

OMI [ABC]

OMI’s “Cheerleader” and The Weeknd’s “The Hills” have both reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The latter song continues to reign over the all-encompassing chart.

As of late September, both songs are also triple platinum in the United States.

Per the RIAA, “Cheerleader” earned its 3X platinum certification on September 30. “The Hills” reached the threshold on September 17.

Under the terms of the RIAA’s Digital Singles program, the 3X platinum certification confirms a US unit total in excess of 3 million. One unit equals 1 paid download or 100 streams.
