Ratings Update: “Heroes: Reborn” Falls 20%; “The Blacklist” Returns

Final Ratings Update: Thursday’s hourlong “Heroes: Reborn” suffered a 20% drop from the previous week’s two-hour premiere.

According to final broadcast data, this week’s broadcast drew a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating with 5.00 million viewers. Last week’s episode managed a 2.0 with 6.09 million viewers across its 8-10PM block; it posted a 2.05 with 6.568 million in the 8-9PM hour.

Leading out of “Heroes: Reborn” was the season premiere of “The Blacklist.” It led NBC’s night with a 1.8 in the adults 18-49 demographic and 7.77 million viewers.

New drama “The Player” closed NBC’s night with a weak 0.9 adults 18-49 rating and 4.58 million viewers in the 10PM hour. Last week’s premiere, which was itself a disappointing performer, posted a 1.2 with 4.86 million.

Fast National Ratings: Per fast national data, Thursday’s “Heroes: Reborn” posted a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating with 5.00 million viewers.

Last week’s two-hour premiere drew a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating with 6.09 million viewers from 8-10PM. It averaged a 2.05 with 6.568 million viewers in the corresponding 8-9PM hour.

“Heroes: Reborn” led into the season premiere of “The Blacklist” (1.8, 7.60 million viewers). NBC closed its night with “The Player” (0.9, 4.50 million viewers).

When it comes to the overnight household ratings, Thursday’s “Heroes: Reborn” predictably slipped from the previous week’s premiere.

Metered market data says Thursday’s episode drew a 3.6 overnight household rating in the 8PM hour.

Last week’s two-hour premiere averaged a 4.4 household rating from 8-10PM; its first hour drew a 4.7.

While the adults 18-49 and total viewership numbers (due by 11:15AM) may not have suffered comparable drops, the non-trivial loss in overnight households does signpost a corresponding decline (of some sort) in those columns.

In terms of overnight households, “Heroes: Reborn” was #4 in the 8PM hour behind CBS’ football coverage, ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” (6.4) and FOX’s “Bones” (3.7). Given its younger skew, it likely beat “Bones” in adults 18-49.

— “Heroes: Reborn” led into the third season premiere of NBC’s “The Blacklist.” The broadcast posted a 5.3 overnight household rating in the 9PM hour.

NBC followed that with “The Player.” After posting a 3.5 last week, the show managed a 3.3 this week.
