Cold War Kids’ “First” Reaches #1 at Alternative Radio; Coleman Hell Goes Top 10

Pun fans can rejoice — Cold War Kids just scored their “First” career alternative radio #1.

Spun ~2,981 times during the August 23-29 tracking week (+237), “First” grabs the top spot on this week’s Mediabase alternative airplay chart. Up one place from last week’s position, the Cold War Kids tune dethrones X Ambassadors’ “Renegades.”

“Renegades,” which ruled for eleven straight weeks, slips to #3 on this week’s chart (~2,813 spins, -112). Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s” lands in between the Cold War Kids and X Ambassadors tracks. Up one position, it received ~2,948 weekly plays (+207).

Beck’s “Dreams” and Mumford & Sons’ “The Wolf” hold steady at #4 and #5, respectively.

While the Top 5 is without a new addition, the Top 10 is not. Up two places, Coleman Hell’s “2 Heads” rises two places to #10 this week. it received ~1,382 tracking week spins (+142).
