Thanks to “Photograph,” Ed Sheeran will score a second straight #1 at hot adult contemporary radio.
The singer-songwriter’s fourth “x” single is on track to convincingly top this weekend’s edition of the Mediabase Hot AC airplay chart. Sheeran most recently hit #1 with smash single “Thinking Out Loud.”
“Photograph” received 5,746 plays over the first six days of the August 23-29 tracking week. Up 5.5% from last week, the count gives “Photograph” an advantage over Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” (5,591, -4.1%) on Mediabase’s building airplay chart.
“Photograph” will retain that advantage as the tracking week comes to a close on Saturday.
“Fight Song,” which reigned for four straight weeks, will slip to #2 on the official chart.
Measuring airplay from August 23-29, the official chart is due Sunday evening.
