Ratings: Starz’ “Blunt Talk” Premiere Draws 446,000 Viewers

Blunt Talk [Starz]

Because the premiere episode — and the follow-up — were made available for streaming in advance of the broadcast launch, one should reserve judgment on their performance.

If one were to judge this week’s “Blunt Talk” premiere he would not, however, shower it with praise.

Saturday’s inaugural episode posted a 0.13 adults 18-49 rating with 446,000 viewers.

While one should not have possessed blockbuster expectations for a Saturday night Starz comedy series premiere, he absolutely should have expected one with this series’ profile and name value to deliver stronger numbers.

The premature availability of the premiere — and the fact that multi-platform and time-shifted viewing will greatly boost the viewership — makes this week’s live+same-day viewership sum considerably easier to swallow.

One cannot, however, refer to this live+same-day performance as a strong one.

Starz has ordered twenty episodes of “Blunt Talk.” They will air over two seasons.
