Ratings: FX’s “The Strain” Crashes to Series Low

Last week’s gain was evidently not the beginning of a trend.

This week’s edition of FX’s “The Strain” crashed to series lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Sunday’s episode managed a mere 0.40 adults 18-49 rating with 949,000 viewers. By far the lowest-rated and least-watched episode on record, it substantially trails the previous episode in both columns.

Last week’s “The Strain” drew a 0.60 with 1.435 million viewers.

The competitive landscape certainly did not help matters this week. The first half of this week’s episode aired against the last half hour of AMC’s mammoth “Fear the Walking Dead” premiere.

While season two viewership considerably trails that of season one, “The Strain” still has the support of FX. That support recently manifested in confirmation of a third season renewal.
