Tim McGraw’s “Shotgun Rider” Officially Reaches Platinum Status

The biggest hit from Tim McGraw’s “Sundown Heaven Town” is officially a platinum single in the United States.

“Shotgun Rider,” that single, achieved platinum status on August 7, 2015. Under the terms of the RIAA’s digital singles program, the platinum certification confirms a US unit total of at least 1 million.

One unit is equal to a paid download or 100 streams.

“Shotgun Rider” is one of two certified singles from McGraw’s album. “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s,” the other, earned its gold label on September 9, 2014.
