R. City & Adam Levine’s “Locked Away” Soars into Pop Radio’s Top 20; Jason Derulo Also Enters

R City [RCA]

Last week, R. City’s “Locked Away (featuring Adam Levine)” and Jason Derulo’s “Cheyenne” jointly reached the Top 25 on Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart.

This week, both songs blast into the Top 20.

Blast is a particularly appropriate word for the “Locked Away” move.

Spun ~5,113 times during the August 2-8 tracking week, “Locked Away” rises seven places to #17 on the chart.

Its spin total bests last week’s count by a whopping 1,714 plays. That represents the pop format’s greatest weekly airplay gain.

“Cheyenne,” meanwhile, moves three places to a new high of #20. It received ~4,357 tracking week plays (+828).
