Ratings: Disney’s “Descendants” Premiere Added 3.99M L+3 DVR Viewers

The good ratings news keeps coming for Disney Channel’s original movie “Descendants.”

Friday’s premiere episode, which drew a live+same-day audience of 6.550 million, reportedly reached an additional 3.989 million DVR viewers over the subsequent three days.

That significant DVR lift brings the show’s live+3 viewership total to a whopping 10.539 million.

As a point of comparison, the June premiere of Disney’s “Teen Beach 2” drew a live+3 audience of 7.5 million.

Impressive, the 10.539 million figure does not reflect the movie’s entire audience.

As previously reported, the Saturday morning and Sunday encores drew live+same-day audiences of 2.9 million and 3.3 million, respectively.

Disney confirms that 1.8 million viewers have screened “Descendants” on the WATCH Disney App.

— Not simply a hit from a total viewership standpoint, “Descendants” also fared well within the network’s target youth demographics. On a live+3 basis, Friday’s premiere episode drew 5.168 million kids 2-11 (2.978 in live+SD), 4.200 million kids 6-11 (2.432 million in live+SD) and 3.756 million tweens 9-14 (2.290 million in live+SD).
