Ratings: Disney’s “Descendants” Encores Drew 6.2 Million Additional Viewers

Enthusiasm over Disney’s “Descendants” was not limited to Friday night’s premiere broadcast. The Saturday morning and Sunday evening encores also drew impressive viewership totals.

Airing at 11AM ET Saturday, the first “Descendants” encore reached a total of 2.9 million viewers. It was the day’s most-watched cable program.

Saturday’s “Descendants” encore also placed first among cable shows in kids 2-11 (1.5 million viewers), kids 6-11 (1.2 million) and tweens 9-14 (1.0 million).

The second encore, which aired at 8PM ET on Sunday night, was even hotter. It reached a total of 3.3 million viewers and also ranked as its day’s most-watched cable program.

It also claimed cable’s #1 position for kids 2-11 (1.5 million), kids 6-11 (1.3 million) and tweens 9-14 (1.2 million).

Friday night’s premiere drew a whopping 6.6 million live+same-day viewers. It attracted 3.0 million kids 2-11 and 2.3 million tweens 9-14. It was Disney Channel’s top program since the 2013 premiere of “Teen Beach Movie.”
