Taylor Swift Praises Alessia Cara’s “Bad Blood” Cover; “Here” Gaining Steam

Music discovery expert (and superstar) Taylor Swift continues to publicly praise promising–and talented–artists.

Her latest target? Alessia Cara.

Cara performed a cover of Swift’s “Bad Blood” for the BBC Radio 1 Piano Sessions series. Moments after the official video emerged online, Swift Tweeted, “You’re AMAZING, @alessiacara. Love this, @BBCR1!”

While not the first heavy hitter to praise Cara, who first gained notoriety for her YouTube covers, Swift is surely the most influential.

The praise comes as Cara continues to promote her debut single “Here.” Eyed for a multi-format run, the song is currently positioned within the Top 60 at urban radio.

After driving 5.0K paid downloads during the June 29-July 5 tracking week, it boasts a cumulative US sales total of 40.5K. It was positioned just outside the iTunes Top 200 at the time of Swift’s Tweet.
