Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea’s “Pretty Girls” Starts as Pop Radio’s #36 Song

Thanks to promotional first-day airplay, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea’s new “Pretty Girls” already ranks as the entire week’s 36th-most played pop song.

According to Mediabase, “Pretty Girls” had received 1,394 pop spins by the end of May 4. That total positions the song at #36 on Mediabase’s rolling pop chart, which ranks songs based on airplay for the week between April 28 and May 4.

Insofar as many of its opening day spins came within major airplay markets, “Pretty Girls” ranks even more impressively from an audience standpoint. Its impression count of 13.470 million is pop’s 25th-greatest for the entire week.

Bolstered by hourly spins on iHeartMedia stations, the opening day “Pretty Girls” play total will doubtfully be rivaled by the numbers achieved in the coming days.

Airplay is airplay, however, and the promotional first day spins simultaneously helped to build awareness for “Pretty Girls” and assure the song a strong debut on this coming week’s official Mediabase airplay chart.
