Katy Perry Posts Photo with Madonna, Lady Gaga; Aims to “Break the Internet”

Katy Perry on Twitter

Three of the post powerful women in music posed for a photo at the annual Met Gala, and one of them established a lofty expectation for its viral impact.

The image features Katy Perry, Madonna and Lady Gaga. In Tweeting the photo, Katy Perry attached the hashtag, “#breaktheinternet2k15.”

Not yet re-Tweeted by Madonna or Gaga, the picture has thus far amassed 15,037 re-Tweets and 21,710 favorites (real-time count below). Impressive by most standards, the total does not confirm the photo’s success in breaking the internet.

It also does not put the image in the same realm as Ellen DeGeneres’ famous Oscars selfie, which has commanded a total of 3.35 million re-Tweets and 2.02 million favorites.
