The eruption of Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance” is truly underway.
The former #1 alternative hit, which is also at a peak of #7 at hot adult contemporary radio and #12 on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100, soars into the Top 20 on this week’s official Mediabase pop airplay chart.
Up five places this week, “Shut Up and Dance” earns the #20 position on the strength of its 4,263 tracking week spins.
That total bests last week’s spin count by 1,337. Only The Weeknd’s #9 “Earned It” (+2,214) and Ellie Goulding’s #3 “Love Me Like You Do” (+1,393) enjoyed greater week-over-week airplay gains.
“Shut Up and Dance” is the week’s only new addition to the Top 20.
