Zac Brown Band’s “Heavy is the Head” Ranks as Rock Radio’s Most Added

Showcased during Saturday’s “SNL” and loaded with buzz, Zac Brown Band’s “Heavy is the Head (featuring Chris Cornell)” is predictably making a splash at active rock radio.

That splash now includes a most added distinction.

According to Mediabase, “Heavy is the Head” earns that honor on the strength of its 26 monitored Mediabase adds. No other song earned that much support from the active rock format this week.

The impressive round of adds contributes momentum to a song that was already in the format’s Top 40. “Heavy is the Head” debuted at #40 on this week’s official Mediabase active rock airplay chart and at #37 on Billboard’s corresponding Mainstream Rock Songs listing.

The early “Heavy is the Head” success comes as “Homegrown” continues to soar at the band’s core country format. It is now a top ten hit at country radio.

As far as active rock radio goes, other popular options this week included Theory of a Deadman’s “Angel” (15 adds, 2nd-most added), Royal Blood’s “Little Monster” (14 adds, 3rd-most added), The Temperance Movement’s “Take it Back” (12 adds, 4th-most added) and Slash’s “Bent to Fly” (5 adds, 5th-most added).
