Rihanna’s “FourFiveSeconds,” Echosmith’s “Bright” are Hot AC’s Most-Added

The buzzworthy new collaboration between Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney looks poised to spend far more than “FourFiveSeconds” at hot adult contemporary radio.

After rocketing to the #26 position on this past week’s Mediabase Hot AC airplay chart, “FourFiveSeconds” now gets to celebrate the most-added distinction.

The superstar collaboration earns that label on the strength of its 29 monitored Mediabase adds.

A multi-format hit, “FourFiveSeconds” continues to perform well at the pop and rhythmic formats, where it simultaneously ranked as last week’s most-added song. It is also beginning to make some noise at urban radio.

While it was the clear top choice at Hot AC radio this week, “FourFiveSeconds” was not the only song to receive a warm welcome from the format’s programmers. Echosmith’s “Bright” and Taylor Swift’s “Style” also fared well.

“Bright,” which is the follow-up to the band’s Top 5 Hot AC hit (and iHeartRadio “On the Verge” pick) “Cool Kids,” landed at 16 monitored Mediabase stations this week. It narrowly edges “Style” (14 adds) for the second-most-added distinction.

The Echosmith song also impacts pop radio this week; Swift’s song technically does so on February 10 (but has already been added by the majority of the pop panel).

George Ezra’s “Budapest” and Selena Gomez’ “The Heart Wants What it Wants” tie for fourth-most-added on the strength of their 11 respective adds. Maroon 5’s “Sugar” (6th-most-added, 10 adds), Young Rising Sons’ “High” (6th-most-added, 10 adds), Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” (8th-most-added, 9 adds), Kid Rock’s “First Kiss” (9th-most-added, 8 adds) and Train’s “Bulletproof Picasso” (9th-most-added, 8 adds).
