Taraji P. Henson Added to the 1/23 “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”

The star of FOX’s sizzling new drama “Empire” is about to pay a visit to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

NBC announced that Taraji P. Henson, who steals scenes as Cookie on the new FOX series, will appear on the 1/23 edition of its late night talk show. Interview guest Ryan Seacrest and musical act Maddie & Tae had previously been confirmed for the broadcast.

Henson’s performance, which was labeled one of the highlights in Headline Planet’s pre-air review, has helped make “Empire” TV’s most buzzed-about series. It also helped the show score monster ratings for its premiere and then deliver even better ones in week two.

With Henson in the mix, Friday’s complete “Tonight Show” guest list is exclusively comprised of individuals with musical connections. Ryan Seacrest is accomplished in the radio world and hosts “American Idol,” Henson stars on the hip-hop-themed “Empire” and the Maddie & Tae duo has taken the country music world by storm.

NBC’s updated “Tonight Show” listings follow:

Wednesday, January 21: Guests include Jennifer Aniston, Bill Gates and Mario Batali. Show 199

Thursday, January 22: Guests include Blake Shelton, Bob Costas and musical guest Motley Crue. Show 200
