Ratings: “Jane the Virgin” Even in Demo, Up in Viewers After Golden Globes

Those hoping Gina Rodriguez’ Golden Globes victory would propel The CW’s “Jane the Virgin” to significantly improved ratings did not get their wish Monday.

Airing out of “The Originals” (0.6 adults 18-49 rating, 1.48 million viewers), “Jane” drew a 0.5 with 1.42 million at 9PM.

While the viewership mark was up from the 1.28 million drawn by the previous episode (and the greatest total since the premiere), the adults 18-49 number was even with that of the previous airing.

The CW does add that “Jane” had its best showing in the key adults 18-34 and women 18-34 demographics, but insofar as it held steady in adults 18-49 and rose only slightly in total viewers, it is clear that the “Jane” best actress win (and series nomination) did not notably extend the series’ appeal.
