JK Simmons, D’Angelo Set for the 1/31 “Saturday Night Live”

Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner JK Simmons will host the January 31 edition of “Saturday Night Live.”

The show revealed the news via its official Twitter account Tuesday morning.

D’Angelo, who recently roared back with album “Black Messiah,” will function as the night’s musical guest. Credited to D’Angelo and The Vanguard, “Black Messiah” was the artist’s first in fourteen years and moved 117,000 copies in its opening week.

Simmons recently won the Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe for his work in “Whiplash.” He is contention for the corresponding Oscar.
