Ratings: “Celebrity Apprentice” Bests Previous Premiere (Updated)

Update: Up from its previous premiere, which came on 3/3/13, NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating with 6.79 million viewers.  It enjoyed a slight uptick (from a 2.3 to a 2.4) from hour one to hour two.

NBC notes that “Celebrity Apprentice” drew its timeslot’s best non-sports or Golden Globes rating since January 6, 2013.

Earlier in the night, NBC offered “Dateline” (1.3, 6.24 million viewers from 7-9PM).  The 8-9PM hour drew nearly three times the adults 18-49 audience (1.9 vs. 0.7) and nearly twice the total audience (8.26 million vs. 4.22 million).

NBC aired its first “The Celebrity Apprentice” episode in nearly two years Sunday, and it garnered a solid response from viewers.

The premiere commanded a 4.7 overnight household rating from 9-11PM ET. While not necessarily a blockbuster number, it represented a 24% gain from the 3.8 posted by the previous season’s premiere in March 2013.

Given the show’s usual skew, it also foretells a solid showing in the adults 18-49 demographic. That rating–and the episode’s viewership average–is due by noon.

NBC led into “Apprentice” with “Dateline.” The newsmagazine drew a 4.0 overnight household rating from 7-9PM ET.
