TODAY Reveals Damien as The Voice’s Wildcard; Final Four Confirmed

Taylor John Williams might have produced the best selling performance, but Damien ultimately captured the greatest number of votes Tuesday night.

The announcement was made during Wednesday morning’s “TODAY” Show.

He, therefore, claims the first-ever “The Voice” wildcard position and will proceed to next week’s finale. There, he will contend with fellow Team Adam contestants Matt McAndrew and Chris Jamison and Team Blake contestant Craig Wayne Boyd for the seventh “Voice” crown.

Insofar as Damien had advanced to the top five based on America’s vote (alongside fellow eliminated semifinalist Taylor John Williams), his inclusion in the final round will produce the least amount of controversy.

It, of course, also assures that the winning contestant will represent one of the veteran coaches. The teams run by new panelists Gwen Stefani and Pharrell are officially eliminated.
