Ratings: “American Dad” Has Soft Debut on TBS

No one expected “American Dad” to replicate its routine FOX performance on new home network TBS.

Most, however, expected it to make a larger splash than it did.

Monday’s TBS premiere drew a soft 0.7 adults 18-49 rating with 1.09 million viewers. The young-skewing show drew a more attractive 0.9 adults 18-34 rating, but its overall performance remains unworthy of celebration.

As a testament to the modesty of the initial showing, Adult Swim’s 10PM “American Dad” encore broadcast nearly matched the TBS’ original’s adults 18-49 rating and topped that broadcast’s total viewership. It drew a 0.6 rating with 1.44 million viewers for the Cartoon Network companion.
