Echosmith’s breakthrough track “Cool Kids” is definitely not cooling off.
The song, which recently reached the top ten at pop radio and the top ten on the iTunes single sales chart, continues to gain steam on key charts.
The recipient of 4,675 spins during the October 9-15 tracking period, the song rises two places to #4 on Thursday’s rolling edition of the Mediabase hot adult contemporary airplay chart. A lock to retain a top five position on the official chart, which will go to print Sunday evening, “Cool Kids” continues to impress at the radio format where it received early exposure via the iHeartRadio “On the Verge” program.
A multi-format hit, “Cool Kids” complements its top five Hot AC position with a #9 ranking at pop radio, a #22 position at adult contemporary, a #42 marking at triple A and a #43 status at alternative.
Not simply a radio hit, “Cool Kids” also climbs to a new high on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100. The track rises three places to #16 on this week’s chart.
