“All About That Bass” is Greatest Gainer at Pop, Hot AC

What will surely be its biggest sales week to date was also a rather fruitful one from an airplay standpoint.

Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” reigned as the greatest airplay gainer at the pop and hot adult contemporary radio formats during Mediabase’s August 31-September 6 tracking week.

“Bass,” now the fourth-most-played song at pop, enjoyed a whopping week-over-week spin gain of 2,676. Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” the format’s next-greatest gainer, added a considerably weaker (but still quite impressive) 1,738 spins to its weekly total.

In all, “All About That Bass” enjoyed a total of 13,326 spins and 78.51 million audience impressions at pop over the past seven days.

America’s best-selling song also had a monster week at hot adult contemporary. The song rose to #10 on the Mediabase chart thanks to a weekly spin gain of 818. With a gain of 781, Swift’s #7 “Shake it Off” also claimed runner-up gainer honors on the Hot AC format.

“Bass”‘ weekly Hot AC spin and audience totals were 3,733 and 23.94 million, respectively.

A legitimate multi-format hit, “Bass” is also #21 at Rhythmic Radio.
