Luke Bryan’s “Roller Coaster” Nears Top 25 as Country’s Biggest Gainer

Lost amid the online buzz over Maddie and Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song” and monster radio debut of Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt” is the fact that Luke Bryan has another single storming the charts.

According to Mediabase, Bryan’s “Roller Coaster,” the fifth single from “Crash My Party,” was country radio’s 26th-most-played song for the seven days ending July 20.

More impressive than the ranking, however, is the song’s huge spin gain. The song’s spin count of 2,440 over the measured period represents a week-to-week gain of 1,288. No country song is gaining airplay at a faster rate.

Lee Brice’s #4 “I Don’t Dance” and the aforementioned #19 “Dirt” follow with gains of 941 and 801 spins, respectively.

Other top five gainers include Tim McGraw’s #6 “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s (featuring Faith Hill)” (+730) and Dierks Bentley’s #7 “Drunk on a Plane” (+727).
