Update: ABC’s “Rising Star” Ratings Hit Series Low

Update: The overnight household rating was not misleading. After enjoying a slight rebound last week, ABC’s “Rising Star” sank to a series low this Sunday.

The hourlong broadcast drew a mere 1.0 adults 18-49 rating with 4.06 million viewers. Last week’s episode was good for a 1.3 with 4.76 million.

If the overnight metered market ratings are providing an accurate indication, last week’s “Rising Star” ratings rebound was a one-off affair.

After improving from a 2.7 to a 2.8 last week, “Rising Star” this week slipped to a series low 2.5 overnight household rating. That decline might not manifest itself in the adults 18-49 and total viewership numbers, but it does suggest the show is not on a sustainable upward trajectory.

Last week’s 2.8 overnight household rating translated into a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating with 4.76 million viewers.

Like last week’s broadcast, this Sunday’s “Rising Star” featured three “Duels.” Macy Kate, April Lockhart, Austin French and Sonnet Simmons (via save) advanced to the quarterfinals.
