NBC Confirms New “Parks & Recreation” Season Will Be Its Last

Set for a midseason bow, the seventh season of NBC’s “Parks & Recreation” will be its last.

NBC made the news official in a press release touting its 2014-15 schedule. The reveal had been widely expected given the show’s consistent failure to escape its ratings misfortune.

The network did not confirm a premiere date or even a premiere night for the seventh season, but based on its scheduling plans, that night will not be its previous Thursday home. Beginning this February, NBC will go with a comedy-free Thursday for the first time in more than thirty years.

Earlier this week, NBC decided not to move forward with another season of “Parks & Rec'”s timeslot companion “Community.”
