“American Idol” Delivers Series Low Ratings Against iHeart Awards

Not a blockbuster affair, NBC’s iHeartRadio Awards broadcast still took a bite out of an already deflated “American Idol.”

The result? A head-to-head victory for iHeart and a series low performance for “Idol.”

Thursday’s “Idol” results show, which unsuccessfully attempted to get the contestants to agree to a “shocking twist,” delivered a paltry 1.5 adults 18-49 rating with 6.92 million viewers.

Thanks to the series low performance, FOX’s “Idol,” for the first time ever, placed fourth among the broadcast networks. Only The CW’s “Reign” delivered a lower mark in the timeslot.
