“American Hustle” Takes Golden Globe for Best Comedy Film

Whether films like “American Hustle” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” belong in the comedy category has been the source of great debate.

That debate was not, however, enough to discourage Golden Globes voters from naming one of them the Best Film – Comedy or Musical at Sunday’s ceremony.

With twenty minutes remaining in NBC’s telecast, the show revealed “American Hustle” as the best film in the category. It beat out “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Her,” “Inside Llewyn Davis” and “Nebraska.”

Earlier in the night, “Hustle” actresses Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence won the category’s prizes for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively.

On the male side, Leonardo DiCaprio was named Best Actor for his work in “The Wolf of Wall Street.” The Supporting Actor award went to Jared Leto, whose “Dallas Buyers Club” falls under the Dramatic category.
