“Total Divas” Ratings Tank Against Survivor Series, AMAs

Featuring a marquee football game between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, “The Walking Dead” and the American Music Awards, the television landscape was as competitive as it gets on Sunday.

And in addition to facing that mountain of competition, E’s WWE reality series “Total Divas” also had WWE’s own Survivor Series pay-per-view with which to contend.

The results were not pretty.

Sunday’s edition of “Divas” sank to a 0.5 adults 18-49 with a series low viewership average of 920,000.

Already renewed for a second season by a network that surely understood the competitive environment, “Divas” will not face any immediate consequences of that low rating.

But given the buzz surrounding last week’s ratings improvement, which came absent the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” lead-in, the sobering effect of this week’s performance cannot be ignored.
