Family Cameos Highlight One Direction’s “Story of My Life” Video

Indicative of a deeper, maturing sound, sensitive new single “Story of My Life” appeals to the emotional sensibility of One Direction’s fanbase.

Naturally, the accompanying music video strives to do the same.

Released Sunday, the video features the quintet developing family pictures from their childhood. Each band member devotes specific attention to one photo, which is then recreated in the present with cameos from the actual family members.

Unabashedly sentimental, all five recreations are certain to strike warm emotional chords with Directioners. And given that not everyone featured in Louis Tomlinson’s photo is still living, the heartbreaking vacancy in his modern-day re-enactment reflects a particularly powerful breed of touching.
