Crowned “The New Rachel” last season, Melissa Benoist’s Marley has kept a stunningly low profile thus far in season five. Essentially a non-factor, Marley fans would not have been unjustified in wondering whether her prominent positioning was a thing of the past.
Viewers will not learn the answer to that question until “Glee” resumes its fifth season next week, but based on stills from an upcoming episode, Marley will at least look like a star.
The photos, which tease new episode “The End of Twerking,” feature Benoist’s character in a knock-em-dead blue dress. Given that FOX released the shots alongside the first images of new “Glee” guest Adam Lambert, the fact that Marley’s look is gaining any traction is a testament to the success of the shots.
Set to air November 14, “Twerking” will serve as “Glee”‘s second consecutive stab at a timely musical topic. One week earlier, “Glee” tackles two of the biggest names in pop with its self-explanatory name “A Katy or a Gaga.”
